Matchad- Ally Condie

matchad-ally-condie

The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes

City_of_Ashes tumblr_mkkkmyqxYO1rl9hhoo1_500

I finished this book yesterday, but I had a lot going on and so I finally got the chance to write a review on it today. Honestly I loved it!! Even more than City of Bones actually, because now you already know who the characters are and most of their pasts, their personalities etc. so you can sit back and enjoy the actions without wondering who someone is. City of Ashes sucked me in deep, believe it or not, the Prologue was kind of sort of huge with it’s mini reveal of a beginning of something big. I also enjoyed seeing some action I was missing since the ending of City of Bones happen shortly into the book, it was a good balance between action and romance which made it a roller coaster of feelings. There were many character developments throughout the book which I totally love reading.

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare is the second book in The Mortal Instruments series which is completed with a total of six (6) books. It has 19 chapters in 411 pages. In this book Clary discovers more of the dark and dangerous side of New York City while her relationship with other characters slowly starts to change and develop. She would love to forget everything that has happened and get back to her life before she discovered the Shadowhunter world, but it seems to be seeping more and more into her life when dark forces starts to collect themselves preparing for a war.

I don’t want to spoil anything and so I can’t tell you more about the happenings, but that is my attempt on a short summary. If you have read City of Bones and can’t decide whether continue on with the series or not… DO IT!! People said that this series gets better and better with every book, which is totally true. Now after the second book, I’m in!! I can’t wait to read the next one, City of Glass, which I’m expecting big things from because of the cliffhanger City of Ashes ended with.

Totally awesome! I recommend to all fantasy lovers out there to give this series a shot.

It gets 5 out of 5 stars from me!!

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

allegiant-book-cover-high-res allegiant+uk

Allegiant by Veronica Roth is the third and final book of The Divergent Trilogy and has 526 pages. Just another great ending of a trilogy, but no, seriously, Veronica Roth is amazingly good at surprises. She’s so good at tearing you into shreds and glueing you together in a second, it’s crazy. Since the second book of the trilogy, Insurgent, ended with an explotion bigger than ever, you get to know what’s next in line in this final book and it’s nothing you can put into words!!

In Allegiant by Veronica Roth you get to follow our precious but strong characters on their journey through the biggest truth they’ll ever get to know and to the solution they try to make with all the ups and downs along the way. This final book is different from the other two, by being written in both Tris’s and Four’s thoughts. That was a bit confusing in the beginning because it’s actually pretty easy to forget which one you’re reading and that way you get pretty confused at some parts. I think it would be better if it was only Tris, but I know there was issues. But at least, Veronica should have written like Marie Lu with LEGEND, writing one persons thoughts in one font or color and the other one in a different one and so on.

Honestly, this book, this trilogy, this story left me with a big hole inside my chest and it hurts. Many truths you would never imagine are revealed in this finale which might make you angry or even sob like a hopeless kid, but in there somewhere is the beauty of it all written in words. I chose with them at the Choosing Ceremony, fighted with them during the actions, cried with them for the losses and laughed with them whenever they crack jokes and now that journey is so sadly over. But let me tell you one thing! Don’t expect a typical ending for this one.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE DIVERGENT TRILOGY TO ALL YOUNG ADULT LOVERS!!!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars for all the memories and feels it left me with.
