I read this book in 2 days and finished around 3 weeks ago, I know it’s been long since the last review I wrote and it was mainly because school started in the beginning of august and I’ve been pretty busy since then. But here I am now writing another one for you all. The movie premiere took place August 22 in USA and September 5 in Sweden and it is starring one of the actresses I adore, Chloë Grace Moretz, as the main character, Mia Hall.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman is about Mia Hall who has finally gotten a boyfriend and has her cool father, loving and beautiful mother, a precious little brother and a musical talent full of passion that could lead her to a big career. After the car accident, Mia is laying in a coma at the hospital while she has to do the biggest decision of her life. The story is mainly based on all of the flash-backs Mia has while being in a coma and not knowing how to wake up or not even being sure if she wanted to.
It was such a quick read which I liked but also it was heartwarming in a way and it made me tear up a few times. It was not as intense as I expected it to be, but it can be a good one to read if you wanna take a break from all high fantasy, dystopian novels etc. Although I would suggest seeing the movie instead of reading the book if you don’t really enjoy contemporary reads like I do. Becuase I love me some high fantasy or dystopian, whatever that involves things that doesn’t really exist haha!
I gave this one 3 out of 5 stars.
